About I was always interested in written literature, because I knew nothing about oral literature in those days. When I was little I was an avid reader of children's literature and I still am, so my studies have followed this path: Spanish Philology at Alcala University and a Masters in Children's Literature from Roehampton University (London). I discovered storytelling in 1996 from the now disappeared Tusitala, and it seemed so incredible that I immediately got in touch with them. My professional work began the following year in Argentina, where I lived for several years and also had my first book 'Lo que quiere una mujer' ('What a woman wants') published. From then on I have dedicated my time to storytelling and reading promotion, mainly in libraries and schools within the Community of Madrid. I think I am not exaggerating when I say that storytelling has changed my life. It has enabled me to discover the endless possibilities encapsulated within the word and how this can inspire others to engage with the magical world of books. I think storytelling is a marvellous thing, and nowadays I ask myself what I was doing before I told stories. |
